CCTV Explores DFLZM: Crafting a New Smart Mobility Experience for Passenger Vehicles with Hardcore Intelligent Manufacturing and Innovative Technology

Recently, CCTV Finance’s “Hardcore Intelligent Manufacturing” program visited Liuzhou, Guangxi, presenting a two-hour panoramic live broadcast that showcased DFLZM’s 71-year transformation journey from traditional manufacturing to smart, intelligent manufacturing. As a key player within the Dongfeng Group focusing on both commercial and passenger vehicles, DFLZM has not only continued its deep cultivation in the commercial vehicle sector but has also built a multi-category product matrix covering MPVs, SUVs, and sedans through its “Forthing” brand in the passenger vehicle market. This comprehensively meets diverse needs such as family travel and daily commuting, continuously driving the high-quality development of China’s passenger vehicle industry.

DFLZM adheres to a user-centric approach, continuously promoting technological breakthroughs and product upgrades in the passenger vehicle sector. In terms of light weighting, leveraging material and structural innovations, passenger vehicles employ advanced technologies such as large-scale integrated hot stamping and 2GPa ultra-thin side outer panels. This results in the entire vehicle being 128kg lighter than comparable models, balancing safety and energy efficiency.

In response to the trends of electrification and intelligentization, DFLZM focuses on a dual-path layout of “pure electric + hybrid” for passenger vehicles, launching Forthing hybrid products with a range exceeding 1,300 kilometers, achieving a balance between high performance and low energy consumption. In terms of intelligent features, the V9 is equipped with an AEBS (Automatic Emergency Braking System) and an automatic parking function for extremely narrow spaces, calmly handling complex road conditions and parking scenarios, providing users with a safer and more convenient travel experience.

In the manufacturing process, DFLZM has achieved breakthroughs in both commercial and passenger vehicle co-production and green intelligent manufacturing. Processes like stamping, welding, and painting utilize high-strength steel bodies and water-based 3C1B coating technology, enhancing vehicle safety and weather resistance. Simultaneously, photovoltaic power generation and reclaimed water reuse systems integrate green concepts into the entire manufacturing process.

To ensure the reliable quality of every passenger vehicle product, the company has built its own leading comprehensive proving ground in Southern China. Here, it conducts extreme “three-high” tests spanning temperatures from -30°C to 45°C and altitudes up to 4500 meters, along with 20-day four-channel simulated fatigue tests. Each vehicle model undergoes rigorous verification, reflecting DFLZM‘s ultimate pursuit of passenger vehicle quality.

During the program’s live broadcast, host Chen Weihong and Party Secretary Liu Xiaoping personally witnessed two live tests of the V9 at the proving ground. One was an active braking demonstration: in a scenario involving a pedestrian suddenly crossing the road, the AEBS function equipped on the V9 instantly recognized the hazard and braked in time, effectively avoiding collision risks and demonstrating dual protection for both occupants and pedestrians. In the “automatic parking in an extremely narrow space” test, the V9 also performed excellently, automatically adjusting itself to park accurately within the space. Even in extreme environments, it handled the situation as calmly as an “experienced driver,” effortlessly tackling parking challenges.

DFLZM actively implements the “Dual Circulation” strategy, leveraging its manufacturing base centered in Liuzhou to promote the overseas expansion of passenger vehicle brands like Forthing.
