Brand History

Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. is a holding subsidiary of Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and is a large national first tier enterprise. The company is located in Liuzhou, Guangxi, an important industrial town in southern China, with organic processing bases, passenger vehicle bases, and commercial vehicle bases.

The company was founded in 1954 and entered the automotive production field in 1969. It is one of the earliest enterprises in China to engage in automotive production. At present, it has over 7000 employees, a total asset value of 8.2 billion yuan, and an area of 880000 square meters. It has formed a production capacity of 300000 passenger cars and 80000 commercial vehicles, and has independent brands such as "Fengxing" and "Chenglong".

Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. is the first automobile production enterprise in Guangxi, the first medium-sized diesel truck production enterprise in China, the first independent brand household car production enterprise of Dongfeng Group, and the first batch of "National Complete Vehicle Export Base Enterprises" in China.

1954

Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd., formerly known as "Liuzhou Agricultural Machinery Factory" (referred to as Liunong), was founded in 1954

1969

The Guangxi Reform Commission held a production meeting and proposed that Guangxi should produce automobiles. Liunong and Liuzhou Machinery Factory jointly formed an automobile inspection team to inspect inside and outside the area and select vehicle models. After analysis and comparison, it was decided to trial produce the CS130 2.5t truck. On April 2, 1969, Liu Nong successfully produced his first car. By September, a small batch of 10 cars had been produced as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the National Day, marking the beginning of the history of Guangxi's automotive industry.

1973-03-31

With the approval of superiors, Liuzhou Automobile Manufacturing Factory in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been officially established. From 1969 to 1980, Liuqi produced a total of 7089 Liujiang brand 130 type cars and 420 Guangxi brand 140 type cars. Liuqi entered the ranks of national automobile manufacturers.

Liuqi's annual production of cars exceeded 5000 for the first time

1997-07-18

According to national requirements, Liuzhou Automobile Factory has been restructured into a limited liability company with a 75% stake in Dongfeng Automobile Company and a 25% stake in Liuzhou State owned Assets Management Company, the investment entity entrusted by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Formally renamed as "Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd.".

2001

Launch of the first domestic MPV Fengxing Lingzhi, birth of Fengxing brand

2007

The launch of Fengxing Jingyi sounded the horn for Dongfeng Liuqi to enter the household car market, and Dongfeng Fengxing Lingzhi won the championship of the fuel saving competition, becoming a new benchmark for fuel saving products in the MPV industry

2010

The first small displacement commercial vehicle in China, the Lingzhi M3, and the first urban scooter SUV in China, the Jingyi SUV, have been launched

In January 2015, at the first China Independent Brand Summit, Liuqi was named one of the "Top 100 Independent Brands in China", and Cheng Daoran, then General Manager of Liuqi, was named one of the "Top Ten Leading Figures" in Independent Brands

2016-07

J.D.Power According to the 2016 China Automotive Sales Satisfaction Research Report and the 2016 China Automotive Aftersales Service Satisfaction Research Report released by D.Power Asia Pacific, both Dongfeng Fengxing's sales satisfaction and after-sales service satisfaction have won the first place among domestic brands.

2018-10

Liuqi was awarded the title of "2018 National Quality Benchmark" with its practical experience in implementing innovative policy management models to enhance the quality management level of the entire value chain.
